Abstract

The first phase of the Lebanese civil war, which was called the two-year phase, resulted in regional and international interventions, which made Lebanon an arena for foreign political agendas, especially (Israeli), which used the presence of Palestinian organizations as an excuse for attacks on southern Lebanon, invading the region, and establishing a border strip managed by its Lebanese agents in the region. It also made Lebanon vulnerable to Syrian intervention. Syria faced many Arab and international positions regarding that intervention, but the French position was Rejecting Syrian intervention in Lebanon, the newspaper had a position supportive of the official French government position. Thus, during the two-year period of the Lebanese civil war, Lebanon witnessed many events and circumstances that cast their shadow on the Lebanese political reality.
