Abstract

Iraq in general and the Basra Brigade in particular witnessed during the period (1921-1958) an economic movement led by the Iraqi state at that time in order to reach the country's progress and prosperity, and the port of Basra had a major role in revitalizing the Iraqi economy through the entry and exit of commercial ships for it, and the contribution of foreign operating companies In the port, the commercial movement has been stimulated, including the export of oil, dates, and other commercial materials, in addition to the emergence of labor strikes demanding an improvement in their living conditions.
