This study seeks to analyze and evaluate the role of university media in empowering female university students to confront the cultural invasion that targets their values and identity, in light of the wide digital openness and cross-border media flow witnessed in society. Female university students are considered among the most exposed social groups to incoming cultural influences that work to alter values and direct behavior toward consumerist patterns and cultures that contradict national identity. Hence, the importance of university media emerges as an educational communication tool that contributes to enhancing cultural awareness and strengthening national belonging among female students through the provision of conscious media content that counter attempts to distort the image of women and their role in society. The study employed the descriptive method and used a field survey that included a sample of (300) female students at the University of Baghdad and Al-Imam Ja’afar Al-Sadiq University to identify their attitudes toward the effectiveness of university media in enhancing their cultural empowerment. The results revealed a relative awareness of the importance of the role of university media in confronting cultural invasion; however, this role remains below the required level due to limited capabilities and weak organized media planning. The study recommends the need to develop a university media strategy that focuses on empowering women culturally and strengthening their national identity by utilizing traditional and digital university media tools in a manner that responds to contemporary cultural challenges
