(Challenges of Cultural Invasion and Its Impact on the Doctrinal Identity of the Muslim Woman in Contemporary Islamic Thought)

Abstract

Muslim societies are struggling with a conflict between their religious identity and the foreign culture coming from the West, a culture that seeks to reshape the role and social and moral function of women, contrary to divine wisdom in their creation and formation. Cultural invasion is no longer merely the promotion of Western goods and commodities or the imposition of certain lifestyles. but has evolved into an intellectual project that aims to dismantle the relationship between Muslim women and their religious roots by distorting human nature, redefining the concept of freedom, marginalizing modesty and chastity, reducing the role of the family in their lives, and replacing all of that with concepts that are free from religious judgments and values. The research aims to diagnose the doctrinal problems left behind by cultural invasion in women's consciousness, through a critical approach to the means of cultural influence employed by the West, and how these means led to the formation of a troubled and conflicting identity between the status of women as defined by Islam and the artificial identity imposed by the global media. The researcher adopted a critical analytical approach, analyzing the mechanisms of cultural invasion and comparing Islam's concept of women with the vision presented by modern Western thought. The study concludes that cultural invasion has posed a major challenge to women's understanding of their intrinsic role and religious affiliation, and that contemporary Islamic thought is now required to renew its tools and develop its mechanisms of discourse in order to preserve the identity of Muslim women, protect them, and keep pace with the rapid changes taking place in the world.
