Moral Verses and Their Legal Significance within the Framework of Obligatory Rulings in the Holy Quran

Abstract

The research concludes that ethics in the Holy Qur’an constitute an integral part of the Islamic legislative system, which is governed by the principles of usul (legal theory) in understanding and deduction. The study aims to emphasize the necessity of deepening foundational studies that connect ethical texts with the objectives of Sharia, due to their role in building an ethical jurisprudence in accordance with the Qur’anic methodology. This supports the view that ethics possess an authentic legislative dimension. The researcher finds that ethics in the Qur’an are not merely general guidance; rather, they are binding rulings expressed in various forms such as commands, prohibitions, and informative statements carrying an instructive meaning that implies obligation or prohibition. These contribute to achieving the objectives of Sharia. Thus, ethics are not merely a theory; rather, they represent a way of life To build a society governed by virtue and justice.
