This research examines the concept of the marvelous and the marvelous in the Arab literary heritage by tracing its presence in the Holy Quran, Arabic dictionaries, and classical literary works. The research aims to uncover the linguistic and lexical connotations of the concept and demonstrate its evolution from linguistic usage to modern critical terminology. It also considers the positions of both classical and modern Arab critics on the concepts of the marvelous and the marvelous, while referencing modern critical approaches to marvelous literature in Western studies, particularly Tzvetan Todorov's theorizing on fantastic literature.
