Abstract

This research aims to identify: 1- Healthy egoism among university students. 2- The significance of differences in healthy egoism among university students according to gender (male-female) and specialization (scientific-humanities). The researchers adopted and translated Scott Barry Kaufman's Healthy Egoism Scale (Scott Barry Kaufman, 2020), which consists of (10) items. Responses are based on choosing one of five alternatives (strongly disagree, disagree, neutral, agree, strongly agree), with weights of (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). The scale was administered to morning students at Al-Mustansiriya University. A stratified random sample of (500) male and female students was selected. The research yielded the following results: Results: 1- The research sample exhibits healthy egoism. 2. There is no statistically significant difference in healthy egoism based on gender (male/female) or field of study (humanities/science).
