This research, entitled (The Poetry of Suhaim Abd Bani Al-Hashas - A Prosodic Study), attempted to provide a reading of the poetry of a pre-Islamic poet in its rhythmic aspect, in order to re-read the ancient Arabic text and not be satisfied with what ancient criticism presented in its critical treatments in response to meeting the needs of his time, seeking to reveal the nature of Rhythmic shifts And music, and trying to answer fundamental questions, the most important of which is: What is the form of rhythm according to Suhaim Especially since he lived in an era when poetry was characterized by tight rhythmic control? Why this poet and not others? Did he break the strict rhythmic structure of the pre-Islamic poem, which represents the first emergence of the Arabic poem? Are they composed with weights other than the familiar ones that are commonly used? Are there any changes within the structure of meters that took him out of the circle of what was common among his peers, the poets he contemporaries or those who came after him?
