The reality of the population structure in Iraq for the year 2021

Abstract

The research aims to focus on the reality of the qualitative, age, and social composition of the population of Iraq by reviewing the marital and educational structure, depending on the analytical descriptive geographical approach in studying the demographic indicators of the composition of the population of Iraq in 2021. Males per 100 females, and it rose to the highest in Anbar Governorate, as it reached 105.7 males per 100 females, while the lowest was represented in Maysan Governorate by 99.3 males per 100 females. The percentages of age groups (less than one year - 4 years) increased compared to the percentages of other age groups, and the percentages decreased For the older age groups, the total percentage of the age group (15-64) years of the total population of Iraq in 2021 increased to 56.46%, the general dependency ratio of the population of Iraq in 2021 decreased to 92.69%, and the general dependency ratio of the elderly for the population of Iraq reached 45.5%, as it reached The rate of dependency for young people among the Iraqi population reached 67.71%, and the indicator of aging of the Iraqi population reached 6.7%. The rate of economically active people in Iraq in 2021 reached (42.8%). The total unemployment rate of the Iraqi population for the year 2021 reached (13.8%) The marital status is single among the population at the age of (12 years - and over) to the highest percentage, reaching 48.46%, while the lowest percentage of the population of Iraq according to the marital status of the divorced, with a total rate of 0.87%, and the percentage of the population of Iraq at the age of (12 years - and over) according to the educational level rises to the highest For holders of a primary school certificate with a rate of 32% of the total population of Iraq, and the lowest percentages were for holders of a doctorate degree and a higher diploma with a rate of 0.1% for each of the total population of Iraq.
