Abstract

The current research aims to know:

2- Differences in self-indulgence among university students according to the gender variable (male - female)

To achieve this, the self-indulgence scale of (Al-Hamidawi, 2021) was adopted, which consists of (21) paragraphs of the type of declarative paragraphs distributed on three dimensions, as five alternatives for the answer were placed in front of each paragraph, which are (applies to me very much, applies to me, neutral, does not apply Ali, it does not apply to me at all) When correcting, scores (1,2,3,4,5) are taken for the positive paragraphs and (5,4,3,2,1) for the negative paragraphs, and the highest score for the scale is (105) and the lowest score (21).

It was applied to a sample of students from the University of Baghdad - College of Education for Pure Sciences - Ibn Al-Haytham, whose number reached (200) male and female students. After extracting the psychometric characteristics of the scale, the research concluded that university students have an average level of self-indulgence, and there are no statistically significant differences between males and females in self-indulgence.
