Abstract

  Water resources constitute the lifeline, and the continuation of life and progress in societies means an increase in the demand for water. Water has been and still is a subject of disputes between countries, especially those that share one or more rivers running within their borders, including Iraq, and since most of the water resources in Iraq are public and Diyala in particular, they originate From outside its borders, it is therefore vulnerable to decline in addition to being exposed to waste and pollution, which requires the development of a policy that ensures sustainable development of its water resources. The research specialized in studying water resources in Diyala Governorate and determining their sources, the governorate’s needs for them, and the problems it faces, so that an appropriate policy for its development can be developed
