The geopolitical effects of Iraq’s accession to the GATT

The World Trade Organization (GATT) is the largest economic organization، as it is the main engine of the global economy، and Iraq is striving to obtain full membership in this organization، and this matter requires achieving a number of conditions and structural and organizational determinants of Iraqi economic policy، the most important of which is addressing structural imbalances and diversifying Economic sectors، and not relying solely on oil to finance the gross domestic product. Estimating the expected effects of Iraq’s accession to the World Trade Organization (GATT) is not an easy matter، and requires efforts by the state covering various commodity and service production activities، in light of the positives and negatives expected to be achieved. In light of the nature of the economy، and the extent of its adaptation to international economic data، in light of the regulations and policies adopted by the organization.
