Abstract

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) faced many assassination attempts in his life by polytheists and hypocrites, including the assassination of Aqaba. The study aims to shed light on the naming of the Companions of Aqaba in the year (9 AH - 630 AD). We discussed the naming of those accused in the assassination of Aqaba in the oldest Islamic sources and the narrations mentioned about them that clearly shed light on this assassination. We discussed those narrations and the names of the accused mentioned in them, and we showed the scholars’ statements about them. The study identified the category of hypocrites in the era of the Messenger (peace be upon him), and the categories that included the hypocrisy movement in Medina and outside it, whether they were tribes or religious groups. This study followed the critical approach in using sources, and paid attention to the accuracy of transmitting the narrations that included the subject of naming
