Abstract

The African continent, like the rest of the world's continents, has been home to many religious beliefs, as it witnesses religious and cultural diversity.

The people of sub-Saharan Africa believe in many religions, whether from nature, such as rivers and trees, as they carry spiritual energy that plays an important role in religious rituals or from animals, as well as ancestor worship, where the spirits of ancestors were sanctified, as well as those who made them with their own hands, such as idols. The reverence for rulers and kings spread among them, and among the rituals that were prevalent in European society was magic and sorcery, which had no connection to understanding the mystery, These religions demonstrate a deep respect for nature and consider it an integral part of individuals' cultural identity Practices vary from one society to another according to the customs and traditions of each tribe or region.
