Abstract

The research dealt with the political and social role of some women of the Islamic East in the Abbasid era and the Mongol era. The research included three sections.

The first section dealt with: Women of the Islamic East in the Abbasid era, such as (Sayyidat al-Buwayhid, Turkan Khatun, Zubaydah Khatun, Siti Razin, etc.).

The second section dealt with: Women of the Islamic East in the Mongol rule and the great influence they enjoyed in the Mongol state, such as (Tora Kina Khatun, Baghdad Khatun, Sati Bey, Daquz Khatun, etc.).

The third section: It dealt with concubines, most of whom entered through slavery or trade and through wars. Concubines worked in the service of homes, and the majority of dancers and singers were concubines. A concubine who was skilled in singing increased in status and was sold for a high price to enliven musical and wedding parties. Some concubines played a role in social life in the palaces of princes and sultans, where they became close to those in power and often had an influence on state policy and the details of governance, in addition to their role in singing, dancing and entertainment.
