The research aims to study the shrine of the two Askari Imams (Ali al-Hadi and Hassan al-Askari), peace be upon them, from the death of Imam Ali al-Hadi in the year 254 AH / until the emergence of the Jalairiya state in the year (750 AH). From this standpoint, the research is divided into several axes: The first axis included the biography of Imam Ali al-Hadi and his son Hassan al-Askari (peace be upon them) in terms of birth and upbringing. The second axis included a brief geographical description of the city of Samarra in terms of location, establishment, naming, status, and the foundation of the military city in which the two imams resided. While the third axis was talking about the biography of Imam Hassan al-Askari, his birth and upbringing, and addressing the most important stages of his life and the titles he was called by. The fourth axis was talking about the establishment of the shrines of the two Imams and the definition of the shrine in language and terminology and how the shrine’s form began. The reconstructions and additions followed, including those that were under the guidance of the Abbasid caliphs. Some of them were independent through the princes who founded the independent emirates until the era of the Jalairi state, at which the research stops.
