The Reciters of the Qur'an Who Combined Iqra' and Jihad: A Historical Study

Abstract

This study aims to explain the role of reciters of the Holy Qur’an from the time of the Companions of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the Followers, and those who came after them in teaching and reciting the Qur’an in writing, reading, memorizing, and memorizing. And their struggle and fighting the battles in order to establish the pillars of religion and defend it.

The problem of the research is centered on the reluctance of many people of the Qur’an to teach it to young women and their preoccupation with it in earning a living from it and sustenance from it by reciting it at funerals and condolences, and not acting according to its rulings What is the nature of the role played by the reciters of the Qur’an, the Companions, the Successors, and those who came after them in the arenas of jihad, such that their positions deserved to be taught to the mujahideen? As for 1the research methodology, the researcher employed an objective study to trace the lives of the mujahid reciters and the period in which they emerged. Additionally, the study highlights the conditions of these reciters who strove in the path of Allah, so that the contemporary generation may benefit from their predecessors, the bearers of the Holy Quran.

 The results of the research showed that the reality of the lives of the Companions, may God be pleased with them, and the followers and sincere reciters of the Holy Qur’an, proves that their love for jihad exceeded the love of fathers, children, spouses, and the clan. This includes imitating the people of goodness, virtue, and righteousness in everything related to the loftiness and virtues of matters, such as power, truth, and justice. The first role model for Muslims, the one with the most perfect character and the greatest approach, is our Messenger Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, his honorable companions and their followers, and the Mujahideen preachers from the people of the Qur’an.
