The aim of the present study is to investigate:
The level of adherence to opinions among university students.
The differences in adherence to opinions based on gender (male, female) and specialization (scientific, humanities).
The sample for this study consisted of 400 students (both male and female) from Al-Mustansiriya University, representing both the humanities and scientific specializations for the academic year 2024-2025. The sample was selected using stratified random sampling, ensuring proportional distribution.
To achieve the objectives of the research: The Kotov et al. (2004) scale for measuring adherence to opinion, comprising 15 items, was adopted, after confirming its psychometric properties. Validity was assessed through two methods: content validity and construct validity. The reliability coefficient was calculated as 0.744 using the test-retest method. The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), and the study yielded the following results: University students exhibit an average level of adherence to opinion.
