This research includes a brief introduction to the biography of the Damascene historian Al-Qarmani, his family life, his upbringing, and the era in which he lived. He was a contemporary of the Ottoman Empire and worked in one of its institutions. These influences were reflected in the scientific side of Al-Qarmani. We showed the most prominent scientific productions that he wrote. Among his most important works that reached us is his book (Akhbar Al-Duwal wa Athar Al-Awal), which contained various information such as historical, geographical, political, and social. Our research addresses the statement of Al-Qarmani’s method in documenting the history of the Umayyad state and its rulers. We showed the many and varied methods that he relied on in documenting the history of this state in terms of the biography of the Umayyad rulers and historical events. We also touched on the various resources that he relied on in documenting events and information about the history of that state. Through this, it was done.
