Effects of Cultural Invasion through the Promotion of Islamic Values (Chastity as a Model): An Educational Perspective Derived from the Life of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (Peace Be Upon Her)

Abstract

The present study aims to identify the contribution of educational counselors in protecting female secondary school students from the effects of cultural invasion through promoting Islamic values, particularly the value of chastity as a model, according to an educational perspective derived from the biography of Lady Fatimah Al-Zahra (peace be upon her). To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher adopted a questionnaire as a tool for data collection. In its initial form, the questionnaire consisted of (37) items. After verifying its psychometric properties, including validity and reliability, (9) items were excluded due to their inadequacy, resulting in a final instrument of (28) items. The questionnaire was administered to a sample of (60) educational counselors working in governmental secondary schools in Dhi Qar Governorate, Iraq. After conducting the statistical analysis of the responses of the research sample, the researcher reached results indicating that educational counselors contribute to protecting female students in secondary schools from the effects of cultural invasion by reinforcing Islamic values among them, particularly the value of chastity, through following the example of the biography of Lady Fatimah Al-Zahra (peace be upon
