Abstract

This research aims to identify: 1- University students' attitudes towards fashionistas 2- Pretentious behavior among university students 3- The correlation between students' attitudes towards fashionistas and pretentious behavior 4- The significance of statistical differences in the correlation according to academic year (first-fourth year) After reviewing previous studies, no specific scale existed for this group. Therefore, the researchers resorted to developing a scale, basing its construction and definition on Albert Bandura's theory, which defines attitudes as (the interaction between individuals and the environment, where individuals learn behaviors and attitudes through observation and imitation). The Pretentious Behavior Scale was adopted, and after establishing the psychometric properties of both scales (validity and reliability), the scale was administered to a sample of university students. The following results were obtained: 1- University students hold Postive attitudes towards fashionistas 2- University students exhibit pretentious behavior 3- A statistically significant correlation was found Between the trend towards fashionistas and contrived behavior The current research then arrived at some recommendations and suggestions.
