Moral Immunity Against Threats to Marital Relationships: The Approach of Ali and Fatima as a Model of Family Balance (An Analytical Psychological Study))

Abstract

The approach of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) is a pioneering model in family and moral education within marital relationships, as it combines the reinforcement of moral values with the building of the ideal family. Many changes have occurred within Iraqi families, causing many to deviate from sound Islamic models of upbringing, a model exemplified by the relationship of Fatima Al-Zahra (peace be upon her) as a mother, righteous wife, and educator of generations, with Imam Ali (peace be upon him Hence, the central problem of the current research emerges from the researcher's observation of risks threatening family and marital relationships. These risks threaten the very fabric of society, represented by its fundamental building block: the family. Therefore, there must be moral safeguards to prevent the collapse of the Iraqi family. The researcher then analyzed and identified the most significant moral risks observed as threatening the Iraqi family's departure from Islamic ethics, especially with the development of technology and its digital impacts, which have become a source of anxiety for society today. These risks include weakened religious commitment, imitation of Western cultures, the absence of positive role models, and the spread of moral threats. The researcher presented the most significant challenges facing the Iraqi family in light of the proliferation of social media. First: The risks and threats to marital relationships in light of social media, stemming from excessive engagement with these platforms, which negatively impacts the quality of time spent together and weakens family dialogue. Second: Comparing one's life to the virtual lives of others is a significant factor in the breakdown of Iraqi families. This unacceptable comparison to what is presented on social media can lead to dissatisfaction with married life. Furthermore, the researcher proposes a set of solutions and recommendations, including: 1-Activating the role of family counseling when genuine problems arise by conducting intensive workshops and seminars in counseling centers to guide Iraqi families and highlight the risks that could erode the fabric of the Iraqi family.
