The Role of the Educational Counselor in Promoting Social Tolerance Values Among Female Students in the Face of Cultural Invasion

Abstract

The current research aimed to identify the role of the educational counselor in promoting the values of social tolerance among female students in light of cultural invasion. The research sample consisted of (200) educational counselors out of a population size of (780) counselors in the Dhiqar Education Directorate. The researcher developed a scale for the current study، and after statistically processing The research results showed that educational counselors have a high level of counseling skills that promote the values of social tolerance. The results also showed that there are no statistically significant differences according to the variable of years of service in social tolerance، and the reason may be due to the activities، efficiency and desire to provide counseling work to all students equally In light of the findings، the researcher recommended the following: 1- The need to intensify professional development courses for educational counselors in line with societal advancements and in accordance with the principles of international law and human rights. 2- The need to give special attention to educational counselors and provide them with all the necessary resources and support to help them develop their skills and enhance their counseling work in light of the above، the researcher suggests 1- Conducting similar studies on the role of the educational counselor in promoting the values of social tolerance in universities and schools.
