The current research aims to measure the level of perceived parental criticism among The preparatory students, in addition to studying differences in perceived parental criticism based on the variables of gender and grade level. To achieve the research objectives, the researchers relied on the Perceived Parental Criticism Scale developed by Apparigliato et al. (2007), which consists of 38 items. The researchers extracted the psychometric properties of the scale, such as validity and reliability. The scale was administered to a sample of 400 male and female middle school students. The results showed that students had a moderate level of criticism, a low level of criticism content and form, while agreement was at a high level. The results also showed statistically significant differences in the quantity and content of criticism, as well as agreement and disagreement with criticism, based on the gender variable (males - females), favoring males. The results also showed no statistically significant differences according to the grade level variable (fourth - sixth).
