The present study aims to: 1. identify the positive distraction strategy among preparatory school students, and 2. examine statistically significant differences in the positive distraction strategy among preparatory school students according to the variables of gender (male/female) and academic specialization (scientific/literary). To achieve the objectives of the study, the two researchers adopted the Positive Distraction Strategy Scale developed by Wang et al. (2020), which consists of (11) items. The scale was presented to (21) expert judges, and its discriminatory power, validity, and reliability were established. The scale was administered to a final sample of (400) students selected through stratified random sampling. Statistical methods were used to analyze the data. The results indicated that students use the positive distraction strategy, and that there are no statistically significant differences according to the variables of gender and academic specialization. In light of these findings, the two researchers presented several recommendations and suggestions.
