Abstract

This research aimed to identify the extent to which faculty members at the College of Education possess pedagogical competencies, the diversity of assessment methods used, and the level of students' scientific research skills. It also aimed to evaluate the contribution of pedagogical competence and the diversity of assessment methods to the development of scientific research skills. The research employed a descriptive methodology using survey and correlational approaches. The research population was defined as students at the College of Education, Al-Mustansiriya University. Fourth-year students from the college's departments, totaling 670 students, were selected as the main research sample. To obtain the required data, three questionnaires were developed: one on pedagogical competence, another on the diversity of assessment methods, and a third on scientific research skills. After administering the questionnaires, the data were collected and statistically analyzed. The researcher reached several conclusions, most notably: - The results showed a positive correlation between the pedagogical competence of faculty members and students' scientific research skills. - The results showed a significant correlation between the diversity of assessment methods used at the College of Education and students' scientific research skills.
