The effectiveness of a training program based on geographical skills in acquiring subject teachers in the preparatory stage and their attitudes towards it

Abstract

The current research aims to determine the effectiveness of a training program based on geographical skills in acquiring subject teachers for the preparatory stage. In order to achieve the goal of the research، an acquisition test consisting of (45) items was prepared with (30) objective items and (15) short essay items to measure the level of teachers’ possession before the program and their acquisition after applying for the training program. The final application of the research was done on a randomly selected sample of teachers. Geography، they numbered (20) male and female teachers. He used statistical methods، including the discriminatory power of the items of the trend scale، the t-test for two independent samples، Pearson's correlation coefficient، Cronbach's alpha equation، and Wilcoxon's test. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05). Between the scores of the pre and post-tests in the level of acquisition of geographical skills by geography teachers (the research sample) in favor of the post-test. Some recommendations and proposals were made in light of the research results.
