Attitude of geography teachers towards the issues of science, technology, society and the environment included in geography books for the preparatory stage

Abstract

The research aims to identify the attitude of the teachers of geography towards the issues of science, technology, society and the environment included in the books of geography for the preparatory stage. To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher built a scale commensurate with the definition of issues of science, technology, society and the environment, so the scale became ready for application consisting of (54) items distributed equally into (27) positive items and (27) negative items, and was applied to the main research sample of (322). A male and female teacher who teaches geography in the preparatory stage, distributed among (185) teachers and (137) schools, who were chosen intentionally from the schools of the education departments (Al-Rifai and Al-Qalaa), and through the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS), the results of the research showed that Geography teachers for the preparatory stage had a positive attitude towards issues of science, technology, society and the environment, and from the results of the research, the researcher recommended holding training courses, seminars, and workshops on training teachers on the use of science, technology, society, and the environment, and benefiting from them.
