Abstract

Research Abstract: The current research aims to identify:

1- Positive attitude among university students.

2- Perceived superiority among university students.

3- The relationship between positive attitude and perceived excellence among university students.

4- Differences in the relationship between positive attitude and perceived superiority according to the variables of gender (male - female) and specialization (scientific - human).

 The research sample consisted of (376) male and female students from Al-Qadisiyah University (morning study) for the academic year (2022-2023), male and female, and scientific and humanities majors, which were chosen randomly.

To achieve the objectives of the research, the positive attitude scale was built based on the theory of Caprara et al. (Caprara et al; 2009) consisting of (30) items distributed on the three dimensions of the scale, namely (self-esteem, life satisfaction, optimism), and the adoption of the perceived superiority scale of (Krug, 1990) and translated it into Arabic, and after analyzing the data statistically, the following results were reached:

1- University students have a good positive attitude.

2- University students enjoy perceived superiority

3- There are statistically significant differences between positive attitude and perceived superiority.

4- There are no statistically significant differences between positive attitude and perceived superiority according to the gender variable (males - females) and according to the academic specialization variable (scientific - humanities).

In the results of the research, the researchers recommended some recommendations and suggested some proposals.
