The development of technology has brought about many changes in common educational concepts, impacting administrative systems, curriculum development, and training programs. Indeed, there have been calls to review current school models, as well as those that demand their necessity. This is due to the presence of rapid information media, satellite communication systems, virtual classrooms and laboratories, and other new technological concepts.
Therefore, educational technology is a new science, and it is not limited to the use and maintenance of educational devices. Rather, it is influenced by the theoretical changes facing the field and its applications. Therefore, the field of educational technology and modern teaching methods has evolved, and changes in the definition of the field have been traced since the 1920s, in parallel with the development of related theories. Thus far, it has been observed how the field has been influenced by the theoretical shift from the behavioral to the psychological school in psychology, and from the cognitive to the structural school.
This research has addressed the latest areas of education and the impact of technology on them, specifically modern teaching methods.
