Abstract

The research aims to study the rational method, study its analysis and application in the books of interpretation of the Holy by the Imamiyya in the Quran in the fifteenth century AH. It highlights the increasing reliance on reason in interpreting and understanding Quranic texts. The study demonstrates how Imamiyya exegetes employed rational tools alongside transmitted texts to interpret verses, emphasizing harmony between reason and revelation. It also traces the influence of philosophical and theological schools on shaping this approach and presents examples of exegetes who adopted this method, reflecting a significant development in Imamiyya exegetical thought during this period.. This research is specialized in (the transmitted method) in terms of its origin, its authority, its characteristics, and the foundations on which it depends, and addressing models of its application from the surahs of the Holy Quran. The research presented the linguistic and technical meanings of the words (method) and (reason), and in the applied aspect, the rational method was studied in several verses of the Holy Quran according to a group of books of interpreters of the fifteenth century AH.
