The external appearance and its relationship to self-congruence among Muslim women

The current research aims to identify external appearance and self-congruence, and identify the correlation between external appearance and self-congruence among Muslim women. The research was limited to studying external appearance and self-congruence among a sample of (338) female students from the faculty of science for women -university of Babylon for the academic year (2025–2026). To achieve the research objectives, the researcher adopted two scales of external appearance and self-congruence. After verifying the validity and reliability of the two scales, they were applied to the research sample. Using the statistical program (SPSS), the research reached the following results: the sample of research have no satisfaction with external appearance, the sample of research have no self-congruence, and there is weak correlation between external appearance and self-congruence. A number of recommendations and suggestions were put in light of the findings of the research.
