This research presents a historical study of the stages of recording the Prophet's biography and the Hadith, highlighting the factors that influenced this process, particularly the political factor. The research aims to shed light on the relationship between the ruling authority and the writing of Islamic history, and the resulting directives regarding the transmission and selection of narratives, which had a clear impact on understanding the Prophet's biography and early Islamic history. The research presents the stages of recording the biography, beginning with the prohibition of writing, then the permission granted, and finally the stage of governmental oversight of the writing of the biography and history, clarifying the nature of each stage and the circumstances surrounding it. The research also discusses the role of certain rulers in organizing the recording process and the impact of this on the content of the historical and Hadith narratives that circulated
