Abstract

The current research addresses Hopelessness depression among students of the Faculty of Education. The research aims to identify: (1) the level of Hopelessness depression among students of the Faculty of Education, and (2) differences in Hopelessness depression according to gender (male–female) among students of the Faculty of Education. The research method was the descriptive-comparative approach. The research sample consisted of 400 male and female students from the Faculty of Education. The research instrument was a scale developed based on the theory adopted in the current study, and the validity and reliability of the scale were established. Statistical analysis was conducted using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The results indicated that: (1) students of the Faculty of Education have a moderate level of Hopelessness depression, and (2) there are no gender differences in Hopelessness depression among students of the Faculty of Education. The results were discussed in light of the theory adopted in the current research. The study concluded with a set of recommendations and suggestions.
