Abstract

The current research aims to identify the impact of a counseling program using the "filling the void" approach in reducing grief-related pain among the children of terrorism victims. The researcher adopted the Grief Pain Scale developed by Al-Taie & Abdul Rasul (2023), based on Ross's (1969) theory. The scale consists of 30 items distributed across five domains, with each domain containing six items, and a hypothetical mean of 60. Additionally, the scale includes 40 items spread over five domains. The psychometric properties of the scale were examined, revealing that all items demonstrated significant statistical distinction and correlation. Furthermore, the psychometric characteristics of the scale, including face validity and construct validity, were assessed. To serve the study's objectives, the researcher designed a counseling program based on the "filling the void" approach, in accordance with Beck's (2000) theory. The researcher proposed a session plan consisting of 12 counseling sessions, conducted twice a week, with each session lasting 45 minutes. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS software, and the findings confirmed the achievement of the research objectives. Based on the results, a number of conclusions, recommendations, and suggestions were provided.
