The city of karak is one of the Islamic cities that the muslims consquered and enlightened the spread of islam, and this city had a great impact andprivacy , as it became a beacon of knowledge ,as this city hadagreat impact with neighboring countries and became of a prominent position in the Arabian peninsula ,as it was for our study about this city in terms of location , development and the most important practical achievements and the urban status andits significant economic impact in the field of arab Islamic history.
Karak is considered one of the ancient historical cities and is the capital of the Karak Governorate. Its ancient name was Qir Moab. It was also known as Karaka, which means in the Aramaic language the fortified or walled city. It was mentioned in the Torah, and during the reign of the Ayyubid King al-Salih Ayyub, it was a sprawling kingdom extending From Wadi Al-Jawf to the city of Damascus in Syria, Karak is referred to as the mother of cities, as a number of its people emigrated and established the city of Ramallah in Palestine and the city of Madaba in Jordan. Therefore, it is considered the city of scenes of redemption.
