The size and growth of the agricultural labor force and its proportions of economic activity and its geographical distribution in Mahaweel District (1997/2010/2021)

Abstract

The concept of labor force is one of the most important concepts in which the economic structure of the population is researched. Although many researchers use many terms synonymous with this concept, they all fall within the framework of those human forces. The International Labor Organization (I.L.O) of the United Nations has defined the types of activity. The economy is within a classification called the International Standard Industrial Classification, which is written as an abbreviation (I.S.I.C). This classification was adopted in most countries of the world, including Iraq, in its population censuses. This classification was issued in 1948 and included seven main economic sections. Then some studies were conducted on it. Amendments between 1958 and 1968 and it includes ten main sections. The relative importance of the size of the agricultural labor force in the district of Al-Mahaweel for the year 1997. The size of the labor force in the study area for the year 1997 was (97646) people, and it constituted (100)% of the total labor force in the governorate. This percentage exceeded (1181751), and the total strength varies employed in administrative units in the Mahaweel district, the relative importance of the size of the labor force ranged between (47.42%) in the Mahaweel district, while it decreased to (59.15%) in the Imam district. As for the Nile district, it is not specified in the 1997 census. The size of the labor force in the district of Al-Mahaweel for the year 2010 reached (104,305) percentage.
