Modern critical studies are considered one of the most important studies that have been and continue to be the focus of attention of many critics and researchers. Language and meaning are perhaps the two most prominent terms that have appeared in the critical arena. There are many scholars who have addressed this phenomenon by talking about it and revealing its content. From this standpoint, our research began by talking about The two most important critical terms are language and meaning and their study by the academic critic Wadih Taha Al-Najm, who referred in this to the writings of Al-Jahiz (255 AH). The reason that called for this study was to examine the culture of the Abbasid society of those who had professions, crafts, and the language circulating in that era through the style that Al-Jahiz described. In his narratives and texts at that time, This results in coming up with a general idea that boils down to how the Arabic language is used and performed by the general public and those in particular, and revealing their methods of speech and the words through which they express the meaning that exists in their souls.
