Abstract

Through this research, we are trying to identify the identity and life of the Dutch orientalist Dozi, and his position on the establishment of the Umayyad state in Andalusia, through the historical narratives he reported that carried within them some of the suspicions and slanders that he raised and mentioned in his book (Muslims in Andalusia), where we touched on the most important The historical issues raised and addressed by Dozi about the history of the Umayyad state in Andalusia. We also tried to find and explain the religious and ethnic fanaticism that appeared clearly in the novels of Douzi’s book. He does not differ much from other European orientalists in presenting some issues of Islamic history. These orientalists tried to distort the image of Islamic history and Arab-Islamic civilization. But we have to admit that it's a doozy He has a personality present in commentary, reasoning, and criticism, along with analysis, comparison, and deduction to a great extent. We found him distinguished by his methodology and fairness in some issues of Islamic history. Now, his religious fanaticism has overcome him and covered up his mentality and whims in other aspects of some historical issues.
