Abstract

The Iraqi-Kuwaiti border issue is one of the most important issues that has raised many crises and repercussions in the Arab region in general and the Arabian Gulf region in particular.

The intertwining of international interests and the increasing importance of natural resources have made the Iraqi-Kuwaiti border issue an old-new issue that affects international peace and security.

The historical, geographical, demographic and legal motives leading to its emergence as a problem have varied throughout the historical stages, until it became the focus of the entire world, after it was linked to international decisions that determine and draw the borders between the two countries.

The research deals with the role played by Britain in the issue of demarcating the borders between Iraq and Kuwait. Which did not take into consideration giving Iraq some of its historical, geographical and demographic rights. As British interests in the region were the main driver of the process of drawing the borders between Iraq and Kuwait.

The research problem focuses on a central question related to the nature of the historical, geographical, demographic and political facts associated with the process of dividing and demarcating the borders between Iraq and Kuwait, which focused on achieving British interests and vision.
