Abstract

This research aims to identify: 1- Emotional confidence among sixth-grade preparatory students. 2- Statistically significant differences in emotional confidence according to gender (male, female). The current research is limited to sixth-grade preparatory students of both genders (male and female) for the academic year (2023-2024). The research sample consisted of (100) male and female students, selected using stratified random sampling with proportional distribution. To achieve the research objectives, the researchers developed an emotional confidence scale based on Lindenfield's theory (2014). The scale was reviewed by a panel of expert judges, and its psychometric properties were established. The scale's reliability coefficient using Cronbach's alpha was (0.84), and its reliability coefficient using the test-retest method was (0.80). After confirming the scale's validity, it was administered in its final form to the research sample. After completing the study, the researchers used appropriate statistical methods to analyze the data, utilizing the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The research results showed the following: 1- Sixth-grade students possess emotional confidence. 2- There were no statistically significant differences based on gender (male, female). In light of these results, the researchers presented several recommendations and suggestions, as detailed in Chapter Four.
